Chili Cook Off - January 30th

We have decided to have an Annual Chili Cook off at Davinci! There were LOTS of delicious Chili this year, and it was a close competition. There were a total of 8 competing Chili's. With 100+ employees, we decided to have each person only sample 4. We numbered them 1-8 and put 1-4 on a plate with a roll, and 5-8 on a different plate (also with a roll). Everyone then voted for their one favorite.

Votes were in, and we had one winner!

Michelle Beazer took home the Royal Golden Spoon for winning with her famous 5 bean Southwest White Chili. (Recipe Below)

We created this bad boy with a serving spoon from Walmart (88 cents), a 4 oz. plastic cup (I cut the bottom off to make it look like a crown) some play-dough we had on hand, a piece of red fabric we had on hand, and a piece of plastic for the stand. I hot glued the spoon to the play-dough and then the play-dough to the plastic. I then spray painted the whole thing gold, and then added the red cape for a finishing touch. Viola!

Michelle was nice enough to share her winning Chili recipe with us :)

1 can great northwestern beans
1 can black beans
1 can kidney beans
1 can garbanzo beans
1 can pinto beans
1 can corn (or fresh is better if you have it)
3 cans cream of chicken soup (I used the "healthy choice" kind)
1 cup milk
1 green pepper, diced
1 jalapeno pepper, sliced (leave seeds if you like it hot)
1 tsp cracked black pepper
1 TBSP cumin
1 TBSP fresh parsley
1 TBSP chili powder
1 TBSP garlic powder
3 boneless skinless chicken breasts - cooked, diced, and seasoned
(add some extra hot sauce if you want to)

Dump everything into a crock pot and cook on low for about 3 hrs. until hot.  Easy peasy!
